Ameriprise Hires Two Teams With $295M In Combined AUM

Ameriprise Financial, LLC has added four advisors to its employee channel with $295 million in combined client assets, the company recently announced in a news release. Ross Perkins joins Ameriprise in Carmel, Ind., from UBS with a $135 million book of business, while Thomas Rodman, Maureen Cioppi-Grill, and Paul Teufel of Rodman, Grill & Associates in Conshohocken, Penn., join Ameriprise separately from Morgan Stanley with $160 million in assets. According to all four advisors, choosing Ameriprise was an easy decision for them to make, based on the firm’s high-touch support and cutting-edge technology in delivering client support. Perkins said in the news release that while he knew that switching employers during a pandemic was a big decision, he felt the time was right. “I wanted a place I felt I could spend the rest of my career…and Ameriprise felt like that firm,” he said.

Powell Warns Of U.S. Economy Risk With Pandemic At Deadliest Yet

Three of the world’s top central bankers warned Thursday that the prospect of a Covid-19 vaccine isn’t enough to put an end to the economic challenges created by the pandemic. “We do see the economy continuing on a solid path of recovery, but the main risk we see to that is clearly the further spread of the disease here in the United States,” Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said during a panel discussion at a virtual conference hosted by the European Central Bank. “With the virus now spreading, the next few months could be challenging.” Powell was joined on the panel by Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey and ECB President Christine Lagarde.

Even Careful States Suffer With Covid Crossing Porous Borders

One thing that the latest Covid-19 surge has laid bare: No part of America is totally safe, no matter how restrictive the policies or how compliant the residents. Take Illinois: Since May, it has required masks in public statewide, at times shuttered indoor dining, and banned large gatherings. Yet it recently hit a series of daily Covid-19 records and in the past week had more new cases than any state in the country.
